Leadership
Founder & Principal
Kenneth G. Bauer is the Founder and Principal of Point Loma Advisory and a banking executive with more than two decades of experience in lending, credit risk, operations, business banking, and enterprise strategy.
Before founding PLA, Ken served as Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer of OneAZ Credit Union, a $3.4 billion financial institution, where he led more than 100 professionals across commercial, mortgage, and consumer lending. During his tenure, the total loan portfolio grew by 70 percent while delinquency and charge-offs declined by more than 50 percent. Commercial loans saw similar growth while meaningfully reducing the overall risk of the portfolio. Teams under his leadership improved lending operations, implemented several fintech partnerships, built and launched an in-house SBA 7(a) program, and consistently produced outstanding regulatory examination results.
Ken’s earlier experience includes building business and commercial banking functions for both established and de novo financial institutions, leading the implementation of several multimillion-dollar technology platforms, and directing lending due diligence for prospective financial-institution mergers. Through PLA, he works directly with executives, boards, and lending teams to strengthen credit governance, lending strategy, operating discipline, and execution.
